This full day seminar will address key concepts for the identification, sampling, assessment and management of asbestos contamination in soil with an emphasis on evaluating the issues from a health risk perspective. Key areas covered in the seminar will include:

  • Sources and nature of asbestos contamination in soil
  • Health risk assessment of asbestos in soil
  • Existing WHS and Environmental regulations and guidelines relating to asbestos in soil
  • Soil sampling methodology
  • Analysis of bulk samples and soil for asbestos
  • Limitations of the sampling and analytical methods
  • Assessment of site observations and laboratory results
  • Options for the management of asbestos contaminated soil
