This is an advanced full day workshop covering class 5 oxidizing substances, Class 6 Toxic Substances and Class 8 Corrosives. Participants will be provided the various detailed legal requirements on oxidizing, toxic and corrosive substances including:
- The dangerous goods areas of the OH&S Regulation 2002
- WorkCover's Code of Practice: Storage and Handling of Workplace DGs
- Australian Standards 3780 Storage and Handling of Corrosive Substances,
- AS 4326 Storage and Handling of Oxidizing Substances,
- AS 4452 Storage and Handling of Toxic Substances
- Storage of mixed classes will also be considered under AS 3833.
The standards provide a set of control measures which assists in complying with the new regulations and assists with the legally required risk assessment process. Participants are taken through a number of mock case studies, safety films and invited to bring their own examples for discussion.
