This is a practical half-day introductory workshop designed to get participants up to speed on Australia's current dangerous goods laws covering:
- Storage and handling of dangerous goods
- All 9 Classes of DGs, packaging groups and labeling
- Basic uses of separation distances, bunding, incompatibility and other control measures
- Changes contained in the 7th edition of the Australia Dangerous Goods Code.
- Requirement to undertake risk assessments according to the OH&S regulations and Code of Practice
- The three threshold levels for risk assessment, placarding and notification
- Other legislative requirements, such as notification to the Fire Brigades.
- Workshopped case studies on risk assessment and a fictitious site
- Use of Australian Standards, eg AS 1940, AS 3780, AS 1596 etc.
