This workshop is designed to assist managers and supervisors working in the waste sector and generators of waste on the legal and general operational requirements for waste management with a focus on recycling, especially contaminated soil, construction and demolition waste, beneficial reuse of waste and hazardous waste. Areas covered include:

- Waste licensing under the POEO Act affecting the waste generation and waste facilities
- New waste regulations commencing mid 2019 affecting waste management in NSW
- Overview of NSW waste classification system ? using the 6 steps
- Overview of Resource Recovery Orders and Exemptions
- Managing asbestos waste from packaging to departure
- Acid sulfate soils and their classification and management
- Standards for Managing Construction and Demolition Waste
- Documentation required for claiming lower waste levies at Weighbridges
- Workshop various scenarios of waste classification
- Competency test + certificates issued
