8.55 am Chain of Responsibility – Systems Setup and Compliance Seminar
This half day seminar takes you through the legal mine field of the new Chain of Responsibility (CoR) laws and how to best manage them. CoR captures all in the transport chain, consequently each party must rely on the others for full compliance. Use of management systems to minimise CoR risks is an increasingly adopted approach. Where multiple parties are involved, each in the chain must effectively mesh systems and communicate. Choosing a transport company partner with an effective CoR system is vital to comply and reduce risks. Key questions to be answered in the seminar include:
- How have such systems been done?
- Where should the focus be?
- Are your liabilities impacted by your partners in the transport chain?
- Is it important that your CoR system meshes with your partners?
- What is the legal advice?
- How do you handle rejected loads?
- What does the regulator look for?
Key points discussed include:
- What does the regulating agency look for in considering penalty actions
- A legal perspective on the liabilities imposed on all within the chain and
How easy it is to be included within the Chain - A case study on one transport company’s Management System set up for CoR
