A Seminar to Assist in the develop, finalisation and compliance of
Pollution Incident Response Management Plans
This workshop is designed to assist in meeting the requirement of holders of Environment Protection Licences to develop Pollution Incident Response Management Plans (PIRMP) by 1 September 2012. It is timed to assist companies to polish and finalise their PIMRPs to ensure compliance. To assist EPL holders the workshop will cover:
- The regulator’s perspective on the legislative requirementsunder the:
- Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997
- POEO (General) Regulation sections 98C, 98D and 98E
- EPA’s publication Environmental Guidelines Preparation of Pollution incident response management plans
- Legal assessment and interpretation of the legislation
- Outcomes of the ASBG-EPA Working Party on the new legislation
- Discussion on the main gaps in existing incident response approaches
- Overlap between dangerous goods and hazardous chemicals requirements under the Workplace Health and Safety legislation and PIRMPs
- Provision of templates and other assistance materials
- Overview of the main gaps in existing incident response approaches
- Check list for compliance with the legislative criteria.
