This submission is on the NSW EPA's Resource Recovery Innovation Position Statement and Concept Papers.

Overall, ASBG supports and welcomes the EPA's the overall concept and position statement on resource recovery innovation.
ASBG recommended the Stage 2 discussions of coordination with Department of Planning needs to generate guidelines or other documentation for the innovative process to work effectively. ASBG considers that a majority of resource recovery innovation projects will also require planning consent to proceed.  While the EPA's approach is welcomed, the planning process when applied has no current requirement to assist such innovative projects.  This needs to change as few projects will escape the need for additional planning approval.

ASBG also commented on the Appendix in the Position Statement as requiring clarification and rewriting.
